Travel to Medico-Legal Appointments

Travel to medico-legal appointments

Help make your client’s claim as easy and safe as possible

Medical appointments can be a daunting and worrying aspect of an injury claim, particularly for vulnerable clients.  Physical or psychological injuries can make travel to appointments complicated and even unsafe (e.g. driving when unfit or panic attacks). It can be frustrating and a burden to friends or relatives taking time off work. It shouldn’t be assumed a relative or friend should provide transport.

Do you provide advice to clients in respect of risk assessing their travel? • Consultants may not offer a choice of convenient appointment times making lifts from relatives or friends difficult?

TraumaCare has over 20 years’ experience in arranging rehabilitation for accident victims so understand the issues inherent in clients attending for treatment or medico-legal examinations.

Whilst we can’t guarantee your client won’t DNA for an appointment, we can make it hard.

And as we are completely independent of the medico-legal reporting, there can be no allegations of “coaching”.

Every client will receive bespoke support from their own care co-coordinator. This will begin with a detailed review to consider any concerns and/or practical issues in attending for appointments.  Following the ‘travel triage’ interview, a schedule and estimate of costs for all components will be provided. The cost can be either be agreed with the defending insurers or provided on credit with the support of an after the event insurance policy.     The service can include transport according to the particular needs of the client and the service can include chaperone support from an accredited counsellor.
