Pain Management
Pain management may include a wide range of treatments including both physical and psychological approaches.
Particularly with musculoskeletal injuries, the pain may be related to stiffness and lack of flexibility within joints and soft tissues. Physical therapies (for example physiotherapy) which can help stretch tight joints and tissues can help reduce the pain.
CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) may be recommended to help cope with pain and avoid focussing on it.
As well as medication and injections pain management consultants may also recommend other approaches including TENS machines, which use electrical pulses to help block the transmission of pain through your nerves to the brain.
